DynDNS on Aruba Instant: step-by-step setup

Aruba Instant access points support Dynamic DNS profiles with a custom update URL. With DNS Beacon your site stays reachable under a permanent hostname even when your WAN IP changes. Here's how to configure the DDNS profile.

Step by step

  1. Open the admin interface of your Aruba Instant and go to Configuration → Services → Dynamic DNS.
  2. Enter the values below. Your username is your account email, your password is an API key from the dashboard.
  3. Save the settings. Your hostname now updates automatically whenever your IP changes — usually within a minute.

Aruba Instant (ArubaOS 8.x+) supports custom Dynamic DNS profiles. In the Web UI or via CLI (`dynamic-dns` / `ddns-profile`), set the provider to "DynDNS" and override the URL so updates go to the DNS Beacon API. Aruba substitutes <h> with the hostname and <a> with the current IP.
